Volunteer Work

FIRST Robotics: Team 2729 – Storm

The FIRST® Robotics Competition is an international high school age robotics competition created by FIRST®. Every year multiple teams around the world work to complete a robot, that can complete a task, which changes every year. The students get six weeks to build a competition ready robot to compete against 45,000+ students for the world championship.

I have worked as a FIRST Robotics mentor for the Lenape Regional School District located in southern New Jersey since September of 2010. My goal is to guide the students in software best practices, teach fundamentals and automate control systems. My goal is to bring the fields of Computer Science and Engineering to all students as well as provide a healthy competitive atmosphere. FIRST has provided me the opportunity to give back to my community and positively impact the future of many young students. For this I am very grateful!

The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia
The Promise Walk is an event dedicated to helping support victims of Preeclampsia and raise awareness of this common and potentially deadly condition. The first walk in my area was arranged in May of 2012. I volunteered, initially, by creating a simple flyer to promote the walk. Since then I have found many opportunities to help organize the annual event as well as continue to facilitate their technical needs.
